More than 24,000 color LEDs and 4,000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals were used to create the stunning Galaxy Dress, designed by Cute Circuits.
Hand embroidered circuitry, with iPOD batteries for power, are woven into the multi-layered silk chiffon. The batteries power the LED and crystal fabric, illuminating the dress for roughly one hour.
Each of the tiny 2mm×2mm (0.08” x 0.08”) LEDS work together to create a stunning cascade of light and couture fashion.
The Galaxy Dress is on permanent display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
